Traveling to Tulum

Over a year of no traveling was rough. Nick & I finally booked a trip to Mexico and I could not be more excited. We decided to go to Tulum and stayed in an amazing Airbnb. It was only $200 or less a night and had three bedrooms and two bathrooms. My favorite part was it had its own pool which made a nice view in the mornings but I never even got in it. I really did a terrible job of getting picture on this trip which is unlike me. I do have a bunch of videos on my instagram highlight though.

I had a birthday while we were in Mexico so we went to Azulik for drinks and dinner and the architecture was absolutely stunning. the entire hotel is an art piece in itself. I wish we could have explored it more. I would not go back for the food and service but the craft cocktails/ wine, atmosphere and architecture alone makes it worth it in my opinion. Again, bad with picture on this trip- mostly of views with my drink but more of Azulik on my instagram highlight.

One thing I learned about Tulum and I did not like was how exclusive it felt. When I’m on vacation I love checking different hotels and beaches out and found that to be complicated here. Everything is in the jungle *obviously* so you can’t simply drive by and see where you want to go which I knew in advance so I did some research. You then run into another predicament, you can’t just go into any of the hotels I wanted to see. You have to pay the minimum to go to the beach (normally about $150/ person) which can be applied to food and drink but most the time we just wanted to walk through and check the resort out to see if we even wanted to hang out there.

Our absolute favorite spot was “Be Tulum”. Such good entertainment, people watching and of course food and drinks. We ended up coming here two days in a row.
